Last Friday I decided to pay a visit to my dad in Scholes just outside Holmfirth. After a nice steaming mug of coffee and a chat, I grabbed my backpack, my camera and put on my walking boots to go for a ‘little’ walk. 5 Hours later I arrived back at my dad’s house with over 200 photographs soaking wet from the rain and with sore feet.
I enjoyed the walk and I visited areas of Scholes and Hade Edge where I’ve not been to since I was a wee nipper. It was another walk where the scenery took my breath away, from Cross Heights in Scholes you can see as far as Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and from Bare Bones Road in Hade Edge you have an uninterrupted view all the way over to the power station at Ferry Bridge. We really are lucky to live in this stunning part of England with views like the photographs below reachable in a short amount of time. It is a nice feeling to get out there and take in the fresh air, it is also the best anti depressant ever!!
